Can I come home yet?

Well... since I last updated you all.. there have been many highs and lows. The highs have been really high and unfortunately, the lows have been really low!
So I'll start you on my flight home... 29th January... a wonderfully terrific low that eventually ended in a high! The flight ended up being delayed by 2 hours or more... which, given it was already a late night flight really sucked! We were due to land at 10.50pm... ended up landing at about 1am which meant I got home at 3am... wonderful. Oh and further to that... whilst we were still in the air circling Liverpool, we were informed by the pilot that we were in a queue along with 2 other planes and hopefully it should take us 10 minutes to land... which we just had the fuel for... but after that we may have to make other arrangements... That was just what I wanted to hear whilst being up in the air! Great job there Mr. Pilot! But we landed, safe and sound and I just wanted to get out of there as quick as I could! home home home! Thats all I had on my mind!
Straight to bed when I got in, only to be up early the next day! Saturday was beauty day! I had my eyebrows and eyelashes tinted and also had my eyebrows waxed! Then later on I went to get my hair chopped! :D It was a nice day :D Then I met James on his lunch break at work and took him a subway whilst we chatted for a bit before he had to go back to work.

Then I went to meet Ronan in town and also unexpectedly met Olly too. He was up from uni for the weekend visiting so I guess that was a nice surprise since I rarely see him. We went to warehouse, played a bit of pool then went our separate ways! Got picked up by James later that night and crashed at his.
Didn't get up to too much whilst I was at home other than another wonderfully expensive shopping spree at Matalan totalling almost £100! Fun times!

So anyway, I'll skip all the rest of what happened when I was at home because as I said, it wasn't much so wouldn't even be worth me writing!

Flew back to Germany... for once with a smile on my face.. cause this time James was coming with me for 2 whole weeks! In time alone in a foreign country... that's more like years! :D
Whilst he was here in all fairness, the best part was just having someone there! Especially when that someone was him! We visited Berlin Cathedral which i'd seen before but I know James really wanted to see and it was just as spectacular second time round! Seeing all the coffins in the crypt put such a silence on the entire room... walking around seeing coffins for 'The nameless prince' who died at not even a day old! Just makes you think WOW... how sad :(
We also visited a palace in Potsdam called Neues Palais which was very nice. We got to wear these super huge cool slippers over our shoes so that we didn't damage the floor in there.. most of which was marble! It was so cold in there that I had to wear my gloves but it was such an amazing palace... including one room - the Grotto - which had walled entirely covered in seashells... and this was a very big room... I'm talking bigger than my house just for the one room! The visit to the palace was followed by a walk through the snow covered park into Potsdam. That was a really nice walk but I know it would have been so much better if the sun had been shining for us!
We also visited Berlin Zoo! This was my favourite bit! Other than Flamingo Land, I don't actually recall ever having been to a Zoo in my life, so this was a first for me! I got scared to death by the tiger who roared so loudly and charged into his cage! Made me jump out of my skin! There was also a really big cool gorilla who would every so often bang on the window and charge past and then just go and sit down again! We also got to see a panda, though it was asleep with it's back to us so we didn't see too much! We also saw polar bears and elephants which were both really cool! The list goes on but I won't bore you all with a list of animals that you already know! Oh there was also a bit with insects... and there was a tank with ants.. but it was kind of open... and afterwards I was itchy all over just thinking about them crawling on me! none of them did though!
Our last attraction we visited was Madame Tussauds! That was really cool, but it's a shame it was the German one, not English. Although everything was explained in English as well as German, we didn't know who half the people were because they were only famous in Germany! But we managed to get pictures with George Clooney, both of us punching Muhammed Ali in the face and various others! There was also a waxwork of Hitler, but he was kept away in his own private room and you could only look at him through a little window and you weren't allowed to take photos with him either so as not to cause any offence to the other people visiting. It was cool to see though, nonetheless.
Other than that we just did general hanging out and by the time James had to leave, it felt strange because it felt almost as if he had moved in with me! But I took him to the airport and we said our goodbyes only for me to be left alone again for almost 6 weeks! :(
So he left last Friday and since then I've been getting back into my gym routine which is going well again now. I'm doing long sessions every day but Tuesday :)
I also wrote a letter to my landlady quoting a piece of law that I hoped would mean I could cancel my contract with her when I wish to leave at the end of May. (the contract goes until 1st October) Turns out however that that piece of law only applied to unlimited contracts.. i.e permanent ones. She also felt the need to tell me that if I didn't find a tenant to replace me but chose not to pay the rent that she would be willing to take necessary legal action. Oh joy. Just what I need. So at present, unless I find another tenant.. I stand to lose 1820 euros! All because my landlady is an awful satanic bitch who couldn't just let me leave! I refuse to pay though! I will find some loophole! I mean, surely the fact I am leaving the country, or will no longer have an income or that in a 'furnished' property, she never provided me with a bed or curtains should all help towards my case! But probably not. If anyone has any ideas that may help with this, don't hesitate to tell me! A lawyer specialising in German tenancy law would be a blessing right now!

So currently, I'm sat in my room, fed up... searching frantically for the answer... just a little something that could possibly get me out of this mess! And before I return home to England permanently, I won't hesitate to inform her that she single handedly ruined my stay in Germany and that she should ought to rethink the wording of her contract given that my room is not actually furnished despite her claims that it is!

Stupid old bitch!

Someone come rescue me please?

That's all for now!

Much love

Amy

It's been a while...

So... due to frequent requests and lack of anything better to do... I'm finally getting round to updating my blog! I wasn't aware people liked it that much.. but apparently so! Waheyy.. I have a way with words :D

So.. where did I last leave you all... back in the year 2009 it would seem. Jess and Nick had just left? Oh wow, that wasn't even December! Well... after they left, nothing particularly eventful happened so it's more or less going to be a fast forward through that part. I started going to the gym quite regularly after they left, more or less everyday doing treadmill, cross trainer, rowing machine and exercise bike. (not all in each session, but varying between!) That pretty much became my life for the few weeks that I was still in Germany before Christmas... my plan is to lose weight so that I can get to a weight I am happier at! For all you blog fans out there... if you are interested on my progress... I started towards the end of November at 62.5kg! Keep reading to find out what I am now... :P

So anyway, then it was time for me to go home for Christmas. Leading up to that, I had days of panic. Will my flight get canceled? Will it even land? Is the snow going to stop me... ARGH!! Got to the airport, checked in fine and got through to the other side and luckily no cancellation for my flight just yet. I crossed fingers, toes, everything to make sure they wouldn't cancel it last minute. They didn't!! Hallelujah! Instead, they just decided to delay it by about an hour... :| but apparently.. that's a good thing because it was supposed to be delayed by 4 hours! So I guess I can't really complain about that too much! I thought my stress was over... I was on the plane, happy as Larry and on my way back to England. We landed, no problems. I went through the passport check, no problems. BUT... then I got to the luggage. Now... here comes the problem. They were having a bit of a problem in that a few delayed flights had all landed at the same time, but my flight had landed before any of these other delayed flights. So what do they do? Start sending the luggage out for one of the flights where the passengers weren't even through passport check yet....!! All the Berlin passengers started grumbling at this fact. We were already late and stressed out..! After this luggage going around for about 20 minutes with no one removing a single thing... finally the passengers from said flight arrived and collected their luggage. The carousel was empty more or less, so time for them to put our luggage on right? WRONG! They did it again,.... another flight where the passengers weren't even through yet... so again, another 20 minutes or so just watching luggage go round that didn't belong to any of us! Oh and I ought to point out.. during all this time there was no announcement to let us know what was happening or what had gone on.... so the area was just filled with disgruntled Berlin flight passengers who didn't know if the luggage was even in the same country as we were!! Finally after over an hour..... more luggage started to come out.... and hooray!! It was actually our luggage!!!! And they say the cloud always has a silver lining? I agree.... my suitcase was one of the first to come out! So I grabbed my suitcase and ran out of there as fast as I could.. knowing that poor James had been waiting for me in arrivals for about 2 hours or more! He had bought me a subway though, which cheered me up a little bit :D

Then, not much happened really up until Christmas eve. Then I went out round town with James, Jess, Jess, Paul, Nick, Saxo and Jason. Didn't get too drunk, thankfully and ended the night in NOODLE BAR!! The perfect way to end a night in my opinion! I had crispy beef in OK sauce and it was delicious. Then Christmas day came around. I got lots of really nice presents and for once, there wasn't a single thing I didn't particularly like. It was all good. I especially loved my main present from my parents... oh wait.... I still don't have it! :P I know what it is though, ghd straighteners but there was a problem with the delivery etc so my mum couldn't actually get them until the Monday after I had already come back to Germany. But I can get them when I go home next weekend so it's no big deal! :D
Oh I also bought myself, Katie, Jess and James reindeer antlers with flashing Rudolph noses which I thought was quite funny :P My cousins and grandma and grandad and auntie and uncle came over for a bit later that day. We played with all the little kids new toys and played on my uncles Wii and my mum did a really tasty buffet. No xmas dinner but.. I prefer buffet food anyway! :D It was lush! Then, they all went home and I did nothing for a bit. Then James came over later on and we swapped presents! I loved everything he got me! Especially the t-shirt - dead sentimental! :D And he liked everything I got him... I hope! Oh except the biscuit thing.. but I didn't think he liked that anyway... I just got it him cause it was something you don't get in the UK but they sell everywhere in Germany. Was a heart shaped Lebkuchen thing that said 'Ich liebe dich' on it :D Later on my sisters boyfriends came over too and we played all sorts of quiz games which Katie is far too good at! But me and James never expected to win really anyway :P

Then James stopped at mine and we went to his the next day for Boxing Day. His grandma was going to be there so I went over for food and to meet her. She seemed to like me.... at least I hope she did anyway :P We has beef and onion sandwiches! YUM! and then... because James really loves it... we played monopoly! I can't remember who won that time but I know that when James loses... he cries like a baby :P but when he wins.. boy does he win!! haha. It was a fun day anyway :D

Then on Sunday my parents buggered off to Amsterdam so James stopped at my house for a few nights. We went out on Monday with more or less the same crowd as on Xmas eve but Stephen and Ameer were there too. We went to Warehouse and Camel and it was a really good night! Though I ended up feeling sick so had to go home. Even though I wasn't all that drunk! Was a great night all the same though, spend ages dancing the night away in camel! Oh and saw a load of my mates that I hadn't seen for ages cause they were all out too :D

Didn't do too much then til New Years Eve except play more monopoly! :D My parents came back the day before new years eve with 3 or 4 huuuuge bags full of tobacco that my dad wanted to sell!

Then NYE we went to Leeds and stayed over in a hotel. The hotel was surprisingly really nice inside considering we had paid like £15 each for the rooms! Nice en suite and lovely comfy bed and everything :D Was good :D
We went out, all got very drunk and ended up back home relatively early. Some of us for different reasons than others but everything ended really well! :D Didn't have time for a brew in the morning though!! unfortunately! But I'm half tempted to do another night out in Leeds again and stay at the hotel again just cause it was so good :D

Then next day we went to the cinema to see Avatar 3d! My god what an amazing film! I loved it! It was pretty long but just.. such a good film! :D I don't even know what was so good about it but I definitely recommend it to everyone!!

Anyway, the next day I had to come back to Germany :( At the airport there was relatively no problems except for a bit of a delay with my flight and I got back fairly easily. I got to the train station just in time to miss the train I wanted... but for once Lady Luck was shining down on me and the train was delayed by 5/10 mins so I didn't miss it! Great stuff cause the next one wasn't for another hour! Then.. the next train I was supposed to get... I should have missed that too... but it was also delayed because it was on the same line as my previously delayed train... so I got that too! :D Lucky stuff...! Then I got back to Potsdam, got a taxi home and made it home before midnight :D Waheyy!

I weighed myself the next day to see the damage I'd done over Christmas... this is where all those that were interested tune back in again... so.. I started as 62.5kg mid Novemberish and I managed to get down to 58.9kg before I came home in December. When I arrived back in January.... 62.4kg :P Waste of time perhaps? :P but anyway, I got back into going to the gym, worked my ass off everyday as much as possible! Doing over an hour long session each time! It's now 20th Jan so I've been back 18 days... and already I'm down to 58.4kg! Though admittedly the Xmas weight sort of fell off, I didn't really have to work for that!

I went shopping last Saturday with my flatmate...! Well, when I say went shopping, the intention was that she would shop and I would just go along for the company... but the second I walked through those H and M doors... that was it! I ended up spending just short of 60 euros! But it was totally worth it :D

Other than a few more problems with the landlady... that is pretty much my life up to date!
Hope it was worth the wait... though I have a sneaky suspicion it probably wasn't :P

Until next time my little followers!!
